Challenge #13: Mixed Alphas

This week we say goodbye to two of our amazing designers.  Both Kristie and Val are retiring as this current DT term winds down.  We'll miss you bunches ladies, but hope you'll come back and play along with us in the future!

Here we are at our last challenge of the month.  Since it's the 5th week of the month we are straying from our usual schedule to bring you a bonus challenge!!  This week we are sharing layouts that feature mixed fonts in our title work.  Bust out the alpha stickers, stamping, computer generated, diecut, chipboard letters, etc.  Combine at least 2 different fonts and you're good to go, but the more the merrier!

Here are some amazing examples from our designers:

Challenge #11 Sketch Winners!

**Click HERE to play along with our current stamping challenge**

So sorry for the delayed post guys!  I had shared lately (here and on my personal blog/fb/twitter) that my 3yr old had taken quite the fall on her preschool playground off some equipment and broken her nose and knocked her noggin' for quite a loop.  Well a month later we are still having symptoms that landed us admitted to the local children's hospital last week just hours after posting our challenge.  Well, hopefully we'll be back to a-ok soon, but in the meantime I sure appreciate the quiet time of sitting and going through your entries this morning.  Thanks for the distraction!

So without further ado...here is the sketch we all worked with last week and below that is our top 3 interpretations:

The flower cluster is a beautiful take on that embellished space!

Love how this sketch looks flipped on it's side!

Perfect combo of simplicity, but TONS of interest!

Challenge #12: Stamping

So sorry my post is a few hours late.  I updated that I had a doctor's appointment come up last minute on our facebook page and gave a little sneak at how to get started on our challenge while you waited for the official post to go live.  If you haven't already...click above on the facebook tab to visit and 'like' us there to stay up to date!  :)

This week's challenge is all about stamping.  It's not a go-to technique for scrapbookers, but it really is a fun decor element when it's used!  Our DT have lots of ideas to share for unique ways to add stamping to your scrapbooking layouts!

stamping with paint and embossing folders

stamping on vellum (plus lots of other stamping fun!)

stamping with Gesso

stamping your title and background stamps

fun with roller stamps

stamping as embellishments

stamping with household items?  OH YES!

Last week we featured layouts all about our favorites.  You shared your favorite people, techniques, manufacturers, and moments.  Boy was it hard to narrow down the list, but ultimately there were a few that caught my eye simply because they were not only pretty creations, but awesome takes on the challenge.  Here are three of our favorites!

The beach is my favorite place too!

This sweet photo is her favorite moment.

Awesome idea documenting your favorite TV Shows.

Challenge #9 Winners

I really love journaling on layouts.  While I don't do it on every single one, I absolutely love sitting down to look at the layouts that have a story written somewhere more than any others.  It really sets it off from a normal photo album!!  Take a look at these favorites from the entries to last week's journaling challenge.

Love how the journaling strips set off the gorgeous watercolor look.

The handwriting is such a great additional interest to the mix of fonts.

Journaling is a great add even with long fun title work.

Challenge #10: Favorites

Hey scrappers!  Can you believe it's May already?  Time has flown by so quickly, even if it's hard to remember it's May when I look out the window and see measurable snow...in Kansas.  Craziness right?!?!  Certainly not my favorite weather, so I'm ready for it to skadaddle.  Speaking of favorites......

We're back with another themed challenge for you this week!  It's all about favorites.  Scrap your favorite moment, your favorite picture, your favorite holiday, your favorite item(s), in fact this week's challenge would be PERFECT for a list style layout.  Just make sure if it doesn't say favorite ON the actual layout (in journaling or the title) that you take the time to explain what's your favorite in your blog post.  Now for some designs to kick start your mojo:

Journaling reads "this is one of my favorite photos from our wedding..."

Subtitle says "super favorite moment".

Hidden tags list her son's favorites at this age.

Titled "My Favorite Place".

Journaling reads "My favorite photo of your two..."

Journaling tells us all about her favorite car.

Her fav picture of her and her daughter.

Don't forget this month you are playing for an awesome collection of dry embossing folders.  These can be used in a Cuttlebug or Sizzix style machine to add texture to your paper crafts.  Link up this week for a chance to be chosen as a top 3 and possibly our big May prize winner too!
